Huge supporter of the Team USA Opening Ceremony outfits this Olympics. Blazers, check. Ralph Lauren, check. Nothing says, “Let’s represent what the US is all about,” more than dressing in a navy blue blazer and calling it a day.

Ignoring the mess that is one of my rooms (don’t worry, I don’t sleep in this one…it’s more of a dressing room in the summer because it serves as a halfway house for my wardrobe when I’m not at school) appreciate the glory that is this dress I made from a skirt, a scarf, and some clip on earrings.

I needed an outfit for a cocktail birthday/graduation party that was “Something Red” themed. This navy blue, linen skirt from J. Crew has gotten me through summer cocktail parties, the occasional wedding, and even my parent’s 25th wedding anniversary. I couldn’t be more pleased with its most recent adaptation.

Oh, and did I mention that I want my bridesmaids in navy? Because I do.
